TripTab ("we", "us", or "our") is a trip planning and expense splitting app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around that data.

2. Information We Collect

  • Email address — used to identify your account and link trips to you.
  • Trip data — trip names, dates, itinerary items, expenses, and packing lists that you create.
  • Receipt images — photos you upload for receipt scanning. These are processed by an AI service to extract line items and are not stored permanently.
  • Member names and emails — names and optional emails of people you add to shared trips.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the TripTab service.
  • To sync your trips across the iOS app and web.
  • To allow you to share trips with other users.
  • To process receipt images for expense splitting.
  • To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely in a hosted database (Neon Postgres). We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information. Trip data is associated with your email address and user ID.

5. Third-Party Services

TripTab uses the following third-party services:

  • Vercel — hosting and deployment.
  • Neon — database storage.
  • Anthropic Claude API — AI processing for receipt scanning (images are not retained after processing).

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us at support@triptabapp.com. We will respond within 7 business days.

7. Children's Privacy

TripTab is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do.
